What is the Journal of the European Higher Education Area?
The Journal of the European Higher Education Area is a quarterly journal, combined with and complemented by the website www.ehea-journal.eu. The journal will be published 4 times per year, and will include 5–6 articles per edition, covering a wide range of issues relating to learning and teaching in higher education. As a subscriber of the journal you will also have free access to an electronic version accessible through the EHEA online library. The online library stores all issues of the journal and, in addition, offers access to articles and information not included in the print version.
What do I have to do to obtain a copy of the journal?
You can order the journal via e-mail or via our webshop. The journal is exclusively available on a subscription basis. Please check the "Prices and Ordering" section on this website for details. In the course of an annual subscription period you will receive four journal issues. You may cancel the subscription by giving notice in writing no later than six weeks before the end of the subscription year.
How do I pay?
Ordered products and invoices will be sent directly to your address. You can then pay via wire transfer or send a cheque payable to the publishing house of "DUZ Verlags- und Medienhaus GmbH". If you order via our webshop, you can also pay per credit card or PayPal.
Do I have to buy all four issues in an edition?
Yes, subscribers automatically acquire the four quarterly issues in the first edition of their subscription. You may, however, cancel your subscription at any time thereafter.
Is the online version of the journal accessible via username/password or IP address?
Both. The regular price for the print plus online version of the journal includes online access via username and password only. Access to the online version of the journal via IP Address can be purchased separately. The following prices (per year) are available depending on how many computers you wish to have access. What are the dates of the subscription year?
The subscription year starts with the date of the first invoice. For example: If you receive the first journal on 1 May 2016 (date of invoice), the subscription year will end on 30 April 2017.
Will the subscription extend beyond 2017, and what will be the price of the subscription in the following years?
Yes, the subscription will extend beyond 2017. You will receive four issues each year – unless you cancel the subscription.
How do I cancel the subscription?
You may cancel the subscription by giving notice in writing no later than six weeks before the end of the subscription year.
How do I get online access?
To access the Journal of the European Higher Education Area online you must be a subscriber of the journal. Once the subscription is active and payment has been received, we will activate your subscriber account and send you an email with your user name and password. After that, you may log in any time.
"What should I do if my login is denied?"
If you are copying the login data from our email to the website, please make sure that you only select the numbers and letters of the username and password and no blank spaces before or after. Any blank characters in the login bars (username and/or password) on the website will make the login invalid, as these are interpreted as additional characters.
Occasionally, you will receive the message “Login denied” even if you type your login name and password correctly into the login bars on the website. This has to do with the response time of the server. Please ignore the message and try to download a pdf article on the website. This gives the server time to process your login data again and to enable the access.

When will my online access privileges expire?
Since online access is currently available only in combination with the subscription of the journal, your online access will expire together with your subscription.
Why am I redirected to the front page when clicking on a document title for download?
You must be logged in to download articles. Using the Internet Explorer and clicking on a given download link will redirect you to the front page if you are not logged in. As a subscriber, you will get an activation link after your fee payment has been received.
How do I submit a paper?
Please send the topic, a working title and an abstract together with your short CV to email@example.com. Our editorial team will review your abstract diligently and will indicate you in good time if they are interested to receive the full article.
